Bocca
Created through the collaboration between Bisazza and the Milanese decorative arts atelier Fornasetti, Bocca is a monumental glass mosaic from the Collezione Fornasetti. The composition transforms an iconic female portrait into a dramatic halftone mural: a black-and-white face emerges from thousands of precisely arranged tesserae, while saturated red lips form the unmistakable focal point. At 646 x 291 cm, the complete decoration has the scale and presence of architectural artwork.
Bocca brings Fornasetti's dreamlike, witty and theatrical visual language to living rooms, dining spaces, bathrooms, hospitality interiors, retail settings and statement architectural surfaces. Its disciplined black, white and red palette works especially well with mid-century furniture, warm timber, polished concrete, monochrome joinery and minimal contemporary spaces. The design is sold by the square metre, can be adapted to the project surface and may be colour-customised through the Bisazza Design Studio.
The decoration combines Vetricolor 10.80 with Smalto 10.90 and Smalto 10.77 in 10 x 10 mm glass mosaic, supplied paper-face mounted. Bisazza recommends Fillgel Plus 1104 Neutro Base. Bocca is suitable for light-traffic interior floors in private residential rooms, as well as interior walls and showers. It may also be installed on exterior walls, in swimming pools, spas and humid areas when Bisazza's specified Epoxy Pool Installation System is used. Exterior floor use is not suitable.
The nominal tessera size is 10 x 10 mm, with an approximate thickness of 4 mm, an approximate 0.76 mm joint and a weight of approximately 7 kg/m². Standard sheets measure approximately 322 x 322 mm and contain 900 tesserae. Bisazza recommends its Epoxy Installation Kit using eGlue and Fillgel Plus for interior floors, walls and showers; exterior walls, pools, spas and humid areas require the Epoxy Pool Installation System using eGlue and Pool eGrout.
Glass mosaic colour, texture and reflectivity change with lighting, grout colour, water and viewing angle. Subtle variations between individual tesserae and production batches are expected, while photographs and screen colours are indicative only. Review current physical samples, the official dimensional drawing and a project-specific layout before ordering, and confirm substrate preparation, waterproofing, adhesive, grout and installation requirements with Bisazza and an experienced mosaic installer.
