Basic Mosaics
Designed by Carlo Dal Bianco and made in Italy by Bisazza, Basic Brown is a graphic mosaic pattern from the Flooring collection. Alternating rows of chocolate brown and warm ivory micro-tesserae form a finely striped surface with the precision of woven textile. Its compact tessera scale gives the pattern depth and tactility while the warm, controlled palette creates a sophisticated foundation for contemporary and classic spaces.
Basic Brown is well suited to high-traffic floors, bathrooms, hospitality interiors, retail environments, pools and refined residential applications. The chocolate-and-ivory palette pairs naturally with cream upholstery, warm timber, bronze, travertine and deep burgundy or tobacco tones. The design is sold by the square metre, can be adapted to the project surface and may be colour-customised through Bisazza's design service.
The pattern combines Bisazza colours 12.98 and 12.54 in durable sintered glass-enamel mosaic. It is supplied paper-face mounted, with Fillgel Plus 4407 Marrone Avana recommended to complement the brown field. Basic Brown is suitable for interior floors subject to severe pedestrian traffic, as well as interior walls and showers. It is also suitable for exterior floors and walls, swimming pools, spas and humid environments when installed with Bisazza's specified epoxy systems.
The nominal 12 x 12 mm tesserae measure approximately 11.75 x 11.75 mm and are approximately 4 mm thick. Standard sheets measure approximately 293 x 293 mm and contain 529 tesserae, with an approximate 1.03 mm joint and a weight of 7.5 kg/m². For exterior, pool and humid-area installations Bisazza specifies the Epoxy Pool Installation System using eGlue and Pool eGrout; for interior floors, walls and showers Bisazza recommends the Epoxy Installation Kit using eGlue and Fillgel Plus.
Mosaic colour, texture and reflectivity change with lighting, water, grout colour and viewing angle. Subtle variations between production batches and individual tesserae are expected, while photographs and screen colours are indicative only. Review current physical samples before ordering and confirm slip-performance requirements, substrate preparation, waterproofing, adhesive, grout and installation details with Bisazza and a qualified mosaic installer.
