Project Overview

Share the story behind this project. Describe the vision, the challenges, and the beautiful results that make this space unique.

Completed in 2013, Highpoint’s approximately 30,000-square-metre extension introduced two distinct shopping environments: the crescent-shaped Fashion Mall and the organically arranged Eco Mall.

The design creates stronger connections between the shopping interiors, landscape and community. Skylights and operable façade louvres introduce daylight and natural ventilation, while bespoke timber and bluestone seating provides places to rest throughout the malls. Grimshaw

The $300 million redevelopment also introduced a fresh food market, a David Jones department store and approximately 100 additional specialty retailers. Construction began in March 2011, with the final stage opening in March 2013. Australian National Construction Review
