Damasco Collection
Designed by Carlo Dal Bianco and made in Italy by Bisazza, the Damasco Collection translates the ornamental character of damask fabric into an intricately detailed glass mosaic. Flowing botanical scrolls repeat across the surface, creating a decorative composition that feels classical, luxurious and architectural. The pattern belongs to Bisazza's Timeless Mosaico Collection and can be adapted to different surfaces, with custom colour development available on request.
The collection is offered in six coordinated variants: Damasco Rosso Oro, combining rich red glass with yellow-gold accents; Damasco Bianco, a softly luminous white composition; Damasco Black, a dramatic black-on-black design; Damasco Oro Giallo, pairing warm 24-carat yellow-gold tesserae with white glass; Damasco Opale, a deep jewel-like composition using Smalto and Le Gemme glass; and Damasco Oro Bianco, a refined white-gold and white-glass interpretation. Together, the six colourways range from understated monochrome to highly decorative precious-metal effects.
Each design uses nominal 20 × 20 mm glass mosaic tesserae arranged as an approximately 970 × 970 mm decorative module. The tesserae are 4 mm thick, paper mounted on approximately 322 × 322 mm sheets, with 225 tesserae per sheet, an approximate 1.57 mm joint, and a finished weight of approximately 7 kg/m². Variant-specific combinations draw from Bisazza glass families including Vetricolor, Gloss, Smalto, Le Gemme and Oro Bis.
Damasco is suitable for internal walls, showers, swimming pools, spas and exterior wall applications when installed with the specified Bisazza system. Most non-gold variants are also suitable for light-traffic residential interior floors, while exterior floors are not recommended. Gold-containing variants require special consideration: use the recommended floor version where specified, and follow Bisazza's current technical advice for pools, exterior surfaces and humid environments. White-gold Oro Bis may require substitution with Platino mosaic to reduce oxidation risk.
Glass mosaic and precious-metal tesserae may display subtle variations in colour, surface character and reflectivity as a feature of their artisan manufacturing. The finished appearance is influenced by lighting, grout colour, viewing distance and water. Images are indicative only; view current samples and confirm the selected variant, grout, quantities, mounting, module dimensions and installation system with De Fazio Tiles & Stone before ordering.
