Bloem
Designed by Marcel Wanders and made in Italy by Bisazza, Bloem is a handcrafted floral mosaic decoration from the Modern collection. Overscaled rosettes, stylised blossoms, leaves and scattered circular details create a richly layered composition across a crisp white field. Deep navy, cobalt, black and flashes of turquoise give the artwork a cool, graphic character, while metallic details bring controlled luminosity and a couture-like finish.
The blue-led palette makes Bloem a sophisticated feature for bathrooms, showers, spas, pools, reception areas, luxury retail and residential statement walls. Its vertical 129 x 291 cm artwork can be adapted to the project surface and the colours may be customised through Bisazza's design service. The composition works especially well with white stone, dark joinery, polished metal, blue furnishings and restrained contemporary interiors.
Each decoration is made entirely by hand, with individual pieces cut to size and placed one by one to follow the design. The composition combines Oro Bis, Vetricolor, Gloss and Smalto references in 10 x 10 mm glass mosaic, supplied paper-face mounted. Bisazza recommends Fillgel Plus 1104 Neutro Base. Bloem is suitable for interior walls and showers; it may also be specified for exterior walls, swimming pools, spas and humid areas when the required Bisazza epoxy installation system and metallic-element substitution are used. It is not suitable for floors.
The nominal tessera size is 10 x 10 mm, with an approximate thickness of 4 mm, an approximate 0.76 mm joint and a weight of approximately 7 kg/m². The overall decoration module is 129 x 291 cm. For exterior, pool and humid-area applications, Bisazza requires metallic elements to be substituted with Platino mosaic and specifies the Epoxy Pool Installation System using eGlue and Pool eGrout. For interior walls and showers, Bisazza recommends the Epoxy Installation Kit using eGlue and Fillgel Plus.
As a handmade glass mosaic, Bloem will show subtle variation in colour, texture, reflectivity and tessera placement. Appearance will also change with lighting, water and grout colour, while photographs and screen colours are indicative only. Review current physical samples and a project-specific layout before ordering, and confirm substrate preparation, waterproofing, adhesive, grout, metallic-element substitutions and installation requirements with Bisazza and an experienced mosaic installer.
