Bamboo Mosaics
Designed by René Gonzalez and made in Italy by Bisazza, Bamboo is a handcrafted glass mosaic decoration from the Modern collection. The design interprets a stand of bamboo as slender, irregular ivory and silver-grey vertical stems against a deep bronze field. Fine 20 x 20 mm tesserae give the surface a rich, jewel-like texture while the restrained linear composition creates a sophisticated architectural rhythm.
Bamboo is suited to dramatic bathroom walls, shower surrounds, pool and spa interiors, residential feature walls and refined hospitality spaces. Its warm palette pairs particularly well with pale stone, timber, bronze, metal and softly illuminated interiors. The decoration is sold by the square metre, can be adapted to the project surface and may be colour-customised through Bisazza's design service.
The official composition combines SM 77, GM 20.51, GL 12, SM 01, GL 01 and GM 20.33 mosaics. It is supplied paper-face mounted, with Fillgel Plus 4405 Ocra Bruna recommended to complement the background. Bamboo is suitable for light-traffic private residential floors, interior walls and showers. It is also suitable for exterior walls, swimming pools and spas when installed with Bisazza's specified Pool Installation System, but it is not suitable for exterior floors.
Individual tesserae measure 20 x 20 mm and are approximately 4 mm thick. Standard sheets measure approximately 322 x 322 mm and contain 225 tesserae, with an approximate 1.57 mm joint and a weight of 7 kg/m². The Australian listing identifies an overall decorative module of approximately 129 x 291 cm. For exterior, pool, spa and humid-area installations, Bisazza specifies Ad Hoc cement adhesive, Ultra latex and Pool eGrout; the product is not suitable for thermal pools, particularly those containing sulphurous water.
Glass mosaic colour, texture and reflectivity change with lighting, water, grout colour and viewing angle. Variations between batches and individual tesserae are an expected part of the artisan finish, while photographs and screen colours are indicative only. Review current physical samples and approved artwork before ordering, and confirm substrate preparation, waterproofing, adhesive, grout and installation requirements with Bisazza and a qualified mosaic installer.
